A recently released manual written by a famous plastic surgeon, named Barteletti, puts an end to many fears and legends about the use of Botox and yaluronic acid fillers.
There are no contraindications. Allergic reactions are only 0.007% out of 55,000 cases. Yes, a slight rigidity of facial mimic can be noticed, but after a while the effect wears off and the skin falls down as before.
All that for a few minutes of youthful illusion.
Anyway, the quest of Eternal Youth is a very recurrent theme in Human History. Perhaps, ultimately it ‘s too recurrent in Italy. Not surprisingly, Italy is the oldest country in the world.
Really, You didn’t know that?
Italy has been the first country in history, where the number of sixty years old people exceeded the number of the twenties. It happened in 1995, a world record obtained in advance on all other countries.
In 2020 the Italian population will be formed for 29% of people over sixty years (21% of them over eighty).
Nothing tragic, people apparently grow old very well, in Italy. Without reproducing.
Let’s say only that a future with few young people around seems quite sad. It will be a silent, slow and grey Future. There is nothing to do.
By the way, the effects of general oldness are already visible.
In Italy big changes in Politics or Economics occur very rarely, partly because of our culture and our religion, partly because, let’s say, a large proportion of the population has the head stuck in the past century.
Our young generation is becoming more and more a minority, shy and silent, while at the top of the institutions there are still people who should have retired many years ago.
How could we hope to discuss about reforms, radical changes, new ideas in a country where those in charge have reasonably 5 / 10 years of life ahead?
The president of the Italian Republic is almost 85 years old, the chief of the government is almost 74.
Compared to the leaders of other countries: Sarkozy is 55, Angela Merkel 56, Gordon Brown 59. Barack Obama is 49. What envy!
Now we understand the success of Botox, Facelifts, Transplants and dyed hair. Among so many old people, who seems the younger is intended to win.
In Italy it will be easier, because it's possibile to see real young people less and less around.
Ps. There is Hope. The poor people, the immigrants are still having children. They will bring us the Future. It's happening already. We may like it or not, these people are occupying the empty space that we Italians (so carefully well aging) are leaving.
